Krew subscriptions vs your own customers

How does Krew deal with acquiring new customers while preserving my existing customers

1. Why did we introduce Krew subscriptions?

We introduced Krew subscriptions so that we can bring new customers to you. There are millions of people who want to become fitter and healthier but don't have a pre-existing relationship with any particular pro. For them, what matters most is having flexibility and choice.

Our solution is to introduce a Krew-wide subscription service (see here) so they can get access to anyone in the platform for a flat fee. For example, if a customer buys a beginners subscription to Krew, they get 25 credits which they can spend on anything in the platform ($1 = 1 credit).

While this is a great way to acquire new customers, we don't want you to feel that you will lose your hard-earned community of customers if you start using Krew with them for class payments, scheduling, etc. This is why, when we know that a customer came to Krew through you, we won't introduce them to the Krew subscription, or present them with classes for the same type of sport they do with you.

2. How can Krew tell if I brought someone to the platform?

There are a number of ways we do this. For example, if a customer first creates a Krew account when trying to book a session in your calendar, or directly in your studio room, we know this is your customer, from your existing community. Same if they've ever been invited to book a session by you, using our built-in invite tool.

3. How can Krew guarantee you won't take my customer to a different pro?

If you do mainly yoga, or HIIT, other platforms might offer your customers more HIIT or yoga classes. Because we know that the bond you've built with your customers is a very important part of their experience, we won't suggest that they book classes of a similar type.

In the future, we might offer them complementary classes (e.g., if they do weightlifting or kettlebells with you, we might offer them to do sessions with a physiotherapist every now and then) because we think this will improve customers' overall experience, and it will encourage them to come back more often to work with you on Krew.

Finally, if we know that someone is your customer, we won't present the subscriptions tab to them. This means they will be able to keep buying one-off sessions or packages from you on Krew, but they won't see the subscription option, as we think that can take away from the relationship and trust you have built with each other.
